Professionally Speaking

I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University and a B.A. in Psychology and English from Baylor University. My clinical experience includes both community-based and private practice settings where I’ve worked with adults and teens undergoing treatment for issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, perfectionism, and self-esteem. I integrate a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities into my work— such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR, attachment theory, and mindfulness-based techniques—working together with each client to personalize a treatment plan that targets their difficulties and facilitates their recovery and growth. Additionally, over two decades of serving and mentoring women through various Christian-based ministries also play an important part in my development as a counselor.

Personally speaking

Perhaps like you, on any given day I wear a multitude of hats: wife, mom, coworker, daughter, sister, friend, neighbor…. and perhaps like yours, my life has been full of more highs, more lows, and more unexpected surprises than I ever imagined. My “lived experience” gives me the ability to be empathetically present with my clients and creates unique and relatable insight to bring to my work. I’ve been married to my husband for 28 years, and we’re currently thick in the trenches of raising teens and launching young adults.

When I’m not counseling, you’ll likely find me eating Tex-Mex on a patio with my husband, laughing at ridiculous Tic-Toc videos with my kids, sharing funny stories with a friend, or dreaming of my next beach getaway.
